Health & Safety

Your child’s health is very important to all of us. If your child exhibits symptoms of illness such as fever of 100 degrees F, or above, heavy nasal discharge, coughing, sneezing, suspicious rashes, sore throat, abdominal pain or reddened eyes, please keep your child home and consult your physician as soon as possible.

The Center of Disease Control and the State of NJ recommends a child be fever free, temperature of 98.6 degrees or lower, for 24 hours before returning to school. Even if they have been on an antibiotic for 24 hours, they must also be fever free for 24 hours.

For children who have missed school because of broken bones, sprained ankles, or any muscular or skeletal injuries, a note from the doctor indicating the child’s limitations will be required upon the child’s return to school. In case of a serious accident or any head injury, the parent will be contacted immediately. Accident/injury reports will be reported to the parent at dismissal time and/or in their backpack.

Please contact the office if your child contracts a communicable disease. We would like to notify other parents in the class of this situation. Your privacy will be protected, but it is important for other parents to be aware of the situation.
